Position: Cornerback

College: Florida

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 192

Game: Florida (8-1) at South Carolina (3-6) – Saturday, November 14th – 11 A.M. CT – ESPN

Let me start this out by saying that Vernon Hargreaves III may very well be the best pure cornerback prospect to come out of college since Patrick Peterson.

Playing in the top conference in college football, Hargreaves is about as close to a shutdown corner as there is in the NCAA. Continually playing on a roster that lacked talent, Hargreaves has been the one steady contributor since the moment he first stepped onto “The Swamp” in Gainesville.

Standing at only 5’11” some may be weary of his tackling ability, but simply put on the game film and watch. Hargreaves not only is a competent tackler on the outside, but instead, he flourishes.

Playing with an intensity that is matched by few, Hargreaves becomes a complete cornerback in his ability to locate passes out of the opposing quarterbacks hand. His acceleration out of his backpedal, and closing speed are elite.

From day one Hargreaves would be the No. 1 cornerback on the Chicago Bears roster. He not only would bring youth and talent to a position of need, but he also matches the high character profile that General Manager Ryan Pace looks for.

Make sure to check out Hargreaves and the rest of the Florida Gators as they take on SEC foe, the Gamecocks of South Carolina, this Saturday.
