We preview Bears vs Packers with our friends at Lombardi Ave.

It’s Bears vs Packers to cap off your Thanksgiving.  After remembering last season’s double nickel the Bears allowed in Lambeau, let’s hope you can keep your turkey dinner down.  Thanks to John Fox and Vic Fangio, I don’t expect the Bears defense to give up another 50-burger.  The Bears hung tight with the Packers in the season opener and they’ve improved steadily in recent weeks.  Meanwhile, the Packers have uncharacteristically struggled on offense.

To help us preview this epic Bears vs Packers Thanksgiving night showdown, we’ve enlisted the help of our old “frenemy” Ray Rivard of Lombardi Ave to help us out with our weekly Five Questions.

1. Here’s a fitting question on the night they retire Brett Favre‘s #4. The Packers are down by 5 to the Bears with two minutes left in the game. Which Packers quarterback do you want under center for a possible game winning drive, Favre or Aaron Rodgers?

Great question … Favre had many situations like this where he led the team back for a victory … but … there were many other times when he forced an interception and the game was over.

In this specific case, I would take Rodgers because of his ball security skills. Yes, he hangs onto the ball too damn long, but that is many times his saving grace. Instead of trying to force things to happen, Rodgers will break out of the pocket and find a wandering wide receiver across the middle for a first down. Moving the sticks is important and Rodgers has shown time and again his ability to do that.
