Lamarr Houston may very well be the person that most of us believed he was when the Bears signed him to 5 year/$35 million deal.
Coming off of a terrible first season with the Chicago Bears. Houston ended his first campaign with the franchise by tearing his ACL while celebrating his first sack against a backup quarterback in a blowout loss.

Yes, it was as bad as it sounds.
However, Houston has found life in this new 3-4 hybrid front that Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio has implemented. It truly is amazing what good coaching can do for players.
Houston currently is tied with Pernell McPhee for the team lead in sacks (5) and has also seen an increase in his snap count each game.
Houston recorded a career high of six sacks in 2013 with the Oakland Raiders. He is just one sack away from that same feat this year; all while receiving substantially less playing time.
Houston may have found his niche with this Bears defensive unit, and may very well have gained the respect of this new regime. Houston will go up against a 49ers offensive line that is lack luster at best.
If Houston has a strong showing on Sunday he could see himself elevated to the starting lineup, opposite of Pernell McPhee. This would be ideal for the Bears.
The best thing that could happen would be that Houston starts to live up to his hefty contract, as it would give him more trade value or could even cement him as a piece for this franchise moving forward.
Make sure to checkout the Lamarr Houston as he looks to keep his hot streak going against the San Francisco 49ers.
