Fantasy Football Week 14 Picks Recap:

After a disappointing week 13, my picks were back right around my season average. Apologies for the mediocre week and I hope it didn’t cost anyone in the playoffs. If it makes you feel any better, my mistakes cost me playoff appearances in three different leagues. I may never forgive Eddie Lacy.

My start’em picks were just average again (7-7-5) but were submarined by injuries to Andy Dalton, Vincent Jackson, and T.J. Yelden. I had a few big hits with the red-hot Seahawks connection of Russell Wilson (+18) and Doug Baldwin (+19) and also got strong games from Blake Bortles (+10), Sammy Watkins (+9), and Gary Barnidge (+8). My biggest misses were Brandin Cooks (-7), V-Jax (-7), and Jeremy Hill (-6).

My sit’em picks were much better (13-3) with Golden Tate (+11) and Eddie Lacy (+8) as my only glaring mistakes. Most of my sit recommendations not only under-performed, but did so by a wide margin. Dez Bryant (-11), Philip Rivers (-9), DeMarco Murray (-8), Charcandrick West (-8), Michael Crabtree (-8), and Matt Ryan (-14), who is an absolute mess right now, all were significant disappointments.

Fantasy Football Week 15 Picks:

Note: Only players started in less than 75% of Yahoo leagues will be eligible for the start’em category. The purpose of this column is advice on players that might not be every week starters. I’ll usually list at least one “Deep Sleeper” pick for players started in less than 10% of Yahoo leagues who I think are under-projected.

If you have questions about specific players, hit me up on Twitter or in the comment section and I will get back to you before this weekend’s games. Good luck in your fantasy match-ups this week and go Bears!

Start’em

Quarterback

Drew Brees, DET (64%, 20) – Attempted over 40 passes per game over the last three and is facing a suspect Lions D. Could be a big day for Brees.

Logan Bowles-USA TODAY Sports

Blake Bortles, ATL (58%, 20) – Has been putting up elite fantasy numbers and has thrown 10 TDs with just one INT the last three weeks. Bortles is facing a reeling Falcons team that hasn’t stopped anyone lately.

Matt Stafford, @NO (50%, 21) – Even Stafford should be able to put up good numbers against the Saints and their worst pass defense in the league.

Tyrod Taylor, @WAS (30%, 17) – A better fantasy QB than real-life and has averaged over 25 fantasy points his last three games. Taylor is running more now that he’s healthy and should put up 20 easy against the Skins.
