Like I said, it’s not a certainty that Forte is gone. He had another productive season and while Jeremy Langford and Ka’Deem Carey seemed capable, they definitely also showed that they may not be ready to shoulder the load and carry a running game that is going to be critical to the Bears’ offense in 2016.

Forte’s roots are in Chicago, the fans love him, and Ryan Pace knows that he’s a fan favorite. The Bears are going to be roughly 50 million under the cap and will have money to spend. Pace is trying to build through the draft and not through free agency so giving Forte a 2 year deal around for $15 million total certainly isn’t going to hurt their cap space. Maybe, just maybe the Bears bring him back.
