Chicago Bears Release Tremendous Pernell McPhee Highlight Package

Pernell McPhee had a tremendous season in 2015. In Ryan Pace’s first offseason as Chicago Bears GM he made it his top priority to land the Baltimore Ravens’ reserve linebacker. McPhee liked Pace’s pitch and signed his John Hancock to the contract and a new Bear was on the roster.

Pace’s priority turned out to be a giant win for the new GM. McPhee quickly became a leader both in the locker room and on the field. He became the team’s top playmaker on defense and developed into a huge fan favorite.

McPhee had by far his best season as a pro, despite being slowed by injuries during the latter half of the season. If McPhee can stay healthy in 2016, the Bears will have a Pro Bowl-caliber defensive standout on the roster (and will for years to come).
