The one position on offense that is definitely in flux is tight end. Zach Miller is a free agent and is looking for a payday and Martellus Bennett definitely doesn’t fit in the Bears long-term plans. Dwayne Allen offers a potentially affordable option at tight end.

Allen had a very nice rookie season, but hasn’t been as productive after missing most of his second year in the league. Last season was his least productive season of his career. But Allen is only 26-years old and could be a bargain for the Bears. Allen definitely isn’t a long term answer for Chicago, but Miller and Bennett aren’t either.

If Miller walks and Pace decides he wants to move Bennett and see what he can get in return, Allen could be a viable option at tight end to keep a decent talent on offense in an important position for Cutler and the passing game.
