There has been a lot of talk about trying to bring Malik Jackson to Chicago. Personally, I think this is a bit of a pipe dream. Jackson was fantastic for Denver in 2015 and is set to score big in free agency. He’s potentially going to be the hottest free agent this offseason and may receive the largest contract of any available free agent.

If Pace wants Jackson in a Bears’ uniform, he’s going to get in a bidding war and have to spend big to get him to Chicago. There’s already reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars will give him the moon and Jackson is looking for dollars and doesn’t seem to be too concerned with a winning situation. If he simply chases dollars, the Bears aren’t going to be the landing spot for Jackson and Pace is going to spend money elsewhere. If Jackson is looking for a big contract (but not a bank-breaker) and a team that is building a winner, Jackson will give the Bears a look.
