9th overall- Vernon Hargreaves III– CB- Florida- Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Some people think the physical aggressive cornerback Vernon Hargreaves is the best pure cornerback in this draft. He certainly is one of the best against the run along with being an excellent cover corner back with great ball skills. he’s almost as impressive with his football instincts, and IQ as he is with his tremendous athleticism. He should create a lot of turnovers at the next level. That is the name of the game. His size is a hinderance against some of these monsters that play wide receiver these days, But with a 39″ vertical he somewhat negates that dis-advantage. He’s not at all slow but he’s not a burner as far as NFL defensive backs are concerned running a 4.5 flat at the combine. So that’s another negative, but the pro’s far outweigh the cons, and Hargreaves has almost as big of a floor as he does ceiling.
