11th overall- DeForest Buckner– DE/DT- Oregon
Originally I didn’t think there was any way DeForest Buckner Would fall to the Bears spot in the first round, but as I’ve followed the latest draft news from sources I trust it’s looking more and more like he just may fall, and be there for the Bears should they want him. I believe they will as he’s one of the best available prospects that also fills their need for a 3-4 defensive end with the flexibility to play inside, as well as out.
Alternate picks:
A.) William Jackson III-CB-Houston– Long speedy press corner who can also play zone, and who can develop into a teams number one corner back.
B.) Darron Lee-OLB-Ohio State- Modern age hybrid linebacker who can play safety on running downs, and linebacker on passing downs with crazy measureables.
C.) Jack Conklin-OT-Michigan State- Physical lineman who would fit the Bears wish to have a physical run game, and a shield of protection around quarterback Jay Cutler.
