The Chicago Bears 2016 preseason schedule has been announced and they kick it off with a bang. John Fox will welcome in his former team and the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos to Soldier Field the second week of August. Specific dates have not been announced but the weeks and games have been determined:

Week One (August 11-15)
Denver Broncos at Chicago Bears

Week Two (August 18-22)
Chicago Bears at New England Patriots

Week Three (August 25-28)
Kansas City Chiefs at Chicago Bears

Week Four (September 1-2)
Chicago Bears at Cleveland Browns

Unfortunately for Bears fans that don’t live in Chicago, none of the Bears preseason games will be seen on national television. NFL Network’s games have not been announced yet, so hopefully a couple of the Bears games find their way to the league’s channel.

If you wanted to break down the schedule, that’s a brutal start to the year with three very good teams to kick off the season. The defending Super Bowl champs, the mighty New England Patriots, and a very good Kansas City Chiefs team. It’s a perfect trio of games for Bears fans who like to overreact talk about how tough the start of the season will be. But it’s preseason, so we know the opponent doesn’t actually matter.

It’s only a preseason schedule, but it’s exciting, and why is that? Because it’s one step closer to real, actual football happening in 2016.
