9.) Matt Judon – Grand Valley State

Not many people may know this, but Matt Judon led the nation at every level with 20 sacks, so he definitely has a nose for getting to the quarterback. Also added 23.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. According to CBS Sports he was named the 2015 GLIAC Defensive Lineman of the Year by the conference’s coaches. With that many sacks you can certainly see why. His career totals includes 34 career sacks which is a school record previously held by current Jacksonville Jaguar Dan Skuta at 32.5. There is an injury history as he was a medical redshirt in 2013 for a knee injury (ACL tear), and missed four games previously in 2012. Also missed the East/West Shrine game due to a tweaked meniscus.  However remained healthy for his last two campaigns, and put on a show as an edge defender.

As you would expect from a player with such gaudy stats he has a nice repertoire of pass rush moves. This from NFL.com’s Lane Zierlein.

"Chiseled body with natural power baked into his compact frame and exceptionally long arms. Was too powerful for many of the tackles he faced. Rushes passer with a plan. Uses rip moves around the edge and ties an inside counter with it. Keeps track to the quarterback tight along the arc. Has inside club move to clear up space."

One of the more exciting small school prospects out there. Has the size 6’3″ 275 to stay at defensive end as a five technique, or play on the edge as a 3-4 OLB. Has the versatility Head coach John Fox, and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio desire in their defenders to play a valuable role in their multi front hybrid scheme. Size, production, versatility, and mearsureables point to him being drafted as early as day 3 depending on how teams feel about his injury history which seems to be the only red flag. Which is exactly why he’s on my sleeper list.
