Drew Iddings-South Dakota-DT

PLAYER OVERVIEW:

Drew Iddings is a highly decorated player from South Dakota. He was voted team captain in 2014 which shows what a great leader and respected teammate he is. This kid has the traits to be of interest to this Bears team as Ryan Pace and John Fox are looking for all in football players and thats exactly what Iddings is. Would be an excellent value add late or as a priority free agent.

MEASUREABLES AND PRODUCTION:

Iddings is an excellent athlete. Scored very high on his SPARQ numbers, and did very well at his pro day. Here are his pro day results. He also had a distinguished career at South Dakota. Here are his numbers and accomplishments.

SCOUTING REPORT:

Positives: Perfect size to play 5 technique. Tall with long arms and big hands with a nice frame on which to add weight and strength. Very good leader with excellent intangibles. Has a high football IQ. Plays with toughness, and a relentless motor. Great athlete especially for his size. Had a high SPARQ score. Had excellent pro day results confirming his athleticism. There’s a lot to like about Iddings as a 5 technique prospect.

Negatives: Small school competition might have him a little under developed and unable to be an immediate contributor. certainly athletic enough, but has really no pass rushing game. Needs to develop technique and a solid game plan to counter what teams are trying to accomplish against him.
