PLAYER OVERVIEW:

Connor Wujciak Is an extremely good athlete that has the typical Fangio profile for his defensive linemen. He is kind of a shorter defensive tackle but looking at what they have on the roster now height is not the biggest trait they’re looking to add to that line. He’s a guy that tested well at the combine and has produced in his career at Boston College. Has the blood lines as his father Alan who played at Notre Dame and was part of their 1973 championship team and his brother Alex was a 3 time ALL-ACC linebacker at Maryland.  Another all in type of player that would fit well on this roster.

MEASUREABLES AND PRODUCTION:

As mentioned previously Wujciak tested well at the combine and had a very high SPARQ score as well. Strong quick player as his combine numbers show. Did well at the combine as you can see here. As for production he was a first team ALL-ACC player in 2015 with 12 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. See his career stats here.

SCOUTING REPORT:

Positives: Plays with strength and leverage.

May be shorter than the Bears would like, but has long arms and big hands he uses well to stack and shed, and provides a big jolt on his initial punch. Once he loses his blocker and gets those big strong hands on you you’re toast. He has zero broken tackles in his career at Boston college. Makes plays behind the line of scrimmage with TFL’s, and sacks, and gets his fair share of disruptions with lots of pressure, and hits on the quarterback. Spins off block to either side to make the tackle.

Negatives: Not a lot of girth in the ass which may hurt him on his anchor. Does have a hard time anchoring at times, and gets washed out by bigger stronger interior offensive linemen. Needs to live in the weight room working on his lower half especially.
