10 Sleeper Defensive Linemen Bears Could Target In The NFL Draft
Brandin Bryant-Florida Atlantic-DT
PLAYER OVERVIEW:
Brandin Bryant is a late riser due to a surprising pro day. Most people not even him expected he’d test so well. A quote by him in an Omaha.com feature about his pro day, “I was shocked at myself,” he said. Brandin was also productive as you would expect. With his athleticism he makes a great target for a late value pick or as a UDFA.
MEASUREBALES AND PRODUCTION:
Bryant has an excellent chance at getting drafted. He received a lot of attention as the article I posted mentioned. His pro day was a huge win for him and his chances to be a professional football player. His numbers from there here. His career stats here.
SCOUTING REPORT:
Positives: Both Quick and fast. Wins with a great get off and good hand play thereafter. Has great upper body strength as he put up 38 reps on the bench press. Uses that for a great punch along with strong hands. Has a lot of potential to develop. Likely as a UDFA prospect and eventual practice squad member.
Negatives: Has to add weight. Especially in his lower half. Not strong enough to anchor and hold his ground. Will get blown off the line of scrimmage. Does not have ideal height to play defensive end for the Bears. Might be able to slim down and play OLB.
