PLAYER OVERVIEW:

Justin Murray was a red shirt freshman which gave him an extra year to develop physically and mentally. Murray was an integral part of a highly productive Bearcat offense in both the run and the pass.

MEASUREABLES AND PRODUCTION:

Very fleet of foot. One of the faster quicker lineman in this draft. Ran just over a 4.9 at 4.93.  Showed good explosion with a 30″ vert. and close to 10′ broad jump. Check out his pro day numbers here.

SCOUTING REPORT:

Positives: Highly athletic. Played both sides of the ball at defensive end and offensive tackle at points in his Bearcats career. Has the feet to stay at tackle and even merit consideration on the left side. Has a good frame on him where he can add some weight and maintain his athleticism. Helped the Bearcats put up some prodigious offensive numbers including the second highest yardage total (5,982) in school history in 2014. Has a nice kick slide and is quick out of his stance. Gets his hands on a defender quick and counters hand fighting well. equally good as a run blocker as he is a pass blocker where the Bearcats ranked fourth nationally in passing offense (373.1 yards per game).

Negatives: Needs to add more strength. Technique could use refinement as most young players entering the NFL do. Does not anchor as well against some of the bigger stronger defensive ends in the SEC. He’ll even face bigger stronger meaner ends in the NFL. Needs to live in the weight room.
