I gave it a C and only because this appears to be a Vic Fangio and John Fox pick. But what do I know. Pro football focus has him rated as the #2 Edge defender in the draft and graded with the fourth highest pass rush productivity which must include pressures and disruptions as he only had 4 1/2 sacks in 2015. I was professing my dislike for even the thought of drafting Floyd so you can imagine how I felt when they actually did pick him.

As I calmed down I started to process the move in my mind and realized this was a move Fox and Fangio pounded the table for, and if they wanted it than there must be a plan in place with this kid. There is the fact that many feel the Georgia coaching staff didn’t do him any favors by not using him correctly so he may be a better pro than a collegian.

I can only envision him as a sub package guy to begin with and if he can build more functional mass and strength than maybe he can factor into a more three down role. He does offer a lot of athleticism and crazy length which should help cover a lot of ground in his pass coverage drops which should lead to a lot of errant passes and tips and maybe even picks. It also helps with his ability to keep blockers off his body and create separation enough to wiggle around would be blocks. I am planted firmly on the fence with this so I give it an average grade.
