5. Daniel Braverman, WR, Seventh Round, Western Michigan

In all my years following the NFL, I have never seen a seventh round pick get as much attention nationally as Daniel Braverman. Every expert loves this pick and thinks that Braverman has a chance to become a tremendous slot receiver in the NFL and could even contribute as a rookie.
Braverman is tiny. He’s 175 pounds soaking wet and could have some trouble staying on the field with that frame. The other thing to keep in mind is he’s not overly athletic which means, unless there is blown coverage, he’s not going to be able to beat defensive backs down the field.
However, he has very quick feet and is tremendous and creating space and finding open field in a defense. With very good hands, he has a chance to become a fantastic possession receiver and become one of Jay Cutler’s favorite targets. Some people say he could be the next Wes Welker, I think he probably could be more of a Tom Waddle-type (but more productive due to the era), and if the Bears landed that type of talent that late in the draft, Bears fans will be very pleased.
