Pass Rush

Last season, Chicago’s pass rush showed signs of life, but overall, was average at best. The Bears finished 22nd in sacks (35). Lamarr Houston led the team with eight sacks, while Willie young and Pernell McPhee finished 2015 with 6.5 and six sacks respectively.

The addition of Leonard Floyd, Chicago’s 2016 first-round draft pick, should add some much-needed speed to the pass rush. There’s a chance that Young will get a contract extension soon, which will help their pass rush in the future. Assuming that McPhee stays healthy, the Bears’ corps of outside linebackers could be one of the best in the league, and should look much more comfortable in the second year of their 3-4 scheme.
