8. Cody Whitehair is Already Starting

When the Bears released Matt Slauson, most experts assumed that Whitehair would earn himself a starting spot at left guard and by minicamp, that’s exactly what has happened. Ted Larsen missed minicamp with an undisclosed injury, but that’s all it took for Whitehair to step up and get reps with the first team.

Whitehair looked sharp and seems to be picking up the offense quickly. The Bears want to go young and with Larsen being six years Whitehair’s senior, starting training camp behind the rookie might be insurmountable unless Whitehair struggles (highly unlikely).

With Whitehair runnnig with the first team, the starting offensive line appears set, unless the Bears bring in a significant veteran in the next two months, you can expect Charles Leno, Whitehair, Hroniss Grasu, Kyle Long, and Bobbie Massie up front in September.
