2. The Safeties

Everyone loved what Adrian Amos brought to the table last year, but one thing is certain this year, nobody really has any idea who will be starting opposite Amos in the defensive backfield come week one against Houston.

It appears that the job is Harold Jones-Quartey’s to lose. He will get the most looks with the first team tonight, but the Bears are also going to give rookie Deon Bush a shot as well. The Bears will also take a look at veteran Chris Prosinski and see if he can handle safety duties and not just be a special teamer.

It’s almost a lock that Amos will be starting, but the other safety position is up for grabs. Jones-Quartey is the leader in the clubhouse entering preseason games, but he’s going to have to earn his spot, it certainly won’t be handed to him.
