3. Jonathan Bullard, DE

Bullard showed exactly why the Bears got a steal in round three of the draft. He managed two tackles, one of them for a loss, but showed the ability to get into the backfield all night. Bullard is known for his run-stopping ability but scouts weren’t sure if he’d be able to rush the passer at the NFL level. He already was pressuring the quarterback during his first preseason game and also managed to get into the backfield and cause some disruption on running plays as well.
If Bullard continues to show this type of ability throughout the month of August, he will absolutely earn a starting DE spot opposite Hicks week one against the Texans. He sometimes will over penetrate and make mistakes but his ability to make plays is going to turn heads and might even earn him a spot on the NFL All-Rookie team by season’s end.
