Alshon Jeffery is clearly the Bears’ No. 1 wide receiver, but Cameron Meredith made Jeffery an afterthought last week after the best game of his young career. Meredith recorded nine receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown in Week 5. The second-year receiver may be relied upon even more versus the Jags. In addition to having Kevin White on injured reserve, Chicago could potentially be without Eddie Royal this week, due to a calf injury that has prevented him from participating in practice so far this week. Meredith may get a lot of balls thrown his way in Week 6, but he will have to learn how to protect the ball much better. He’s already fumbled three times this year.
