Jordan HowardYes– No doubt. Howard has shown the ability to be a workhorse on offense. He is one of the few that can be a three down back. He can run between the tackles or break it to the outside. He has soft hands. He also has the ability to block. He is a definitely asset for this offense and a real find (fifth round) by Ryan Pace.
Jeremy LangfordQuestionable– If this list was made two months ago, Langford would have been ‘probable.’ Unfortunately for Langford, his performance at the beginning of the season was mediocre and he has definitely been unseated by Howard. Langford could have a future as Howard’s back up and a nice change-of-pace back, but if he has hopes of being a feature back, he will be leaving this team when his contract expires after 2018.
Ka’Deem CareyDoubtful– Carey has always been on the outside looking in with this team because he was a Phil Emery pick. Carey has done a nice job from time to time but doesn’t show the skills to be a big-time running back at the NFL level. Odds are the team will stick with Langford over Carey. Carey’s contract expires after the 2017 season and the Bears most likely won’t make an effort to keep him on the roster.
