The Chicago Bears will battle their bitter rival in the subzero temperatures this Sunday. If the Bears follow these keys, they will successfully play the role of spoiler and warm the hearts of their disgruntled fan base.

It’s no secret that the Chicago Bears have experienced a disappointing season. While playoffs might have been a long shot, no one quite expected a 3-10 record containing this much frustration. However, the Bears do have a chance to give the fan base something positive to think about.

The Packers are clinging a 7-6 record and essentially need to win out if they want to make the postseason. The Monsters of the Midway could deal the decisive blow to the Packers at Soldier field on Sunday. Doing so wouldn’t change much in regards to the season, but it will provide some much-needed relief.

Before we talk about how to win this week, here’s a look at last week’s keys:

1) Feed Howard

The Bears fed Howard only 13 times against the Lions. Dowel Loggains said this week that Howard would receive more carries in a perfect world. However, a perfect world for the Bears is when Howard is receiving the ball more. The Lions struggled to stop Howard on the ground all day. He logged 86 yards off of his 13 carries. While Barkley did make some strides in the passing game, the Bears thrive when Howard thrives. Chicago loses this key.

2) Bring the heat to Matt Stafford

Chicago managed two sacks and forced Stafford into a number of bad passes. Chicago did exactly what they needed to with their front 7 against Detroit. Bears earned this key without question.

3) Dominate the turnover battle

The Bears logged two interceptions against the Lions. The first interception occurred in the end zone and prevented a score while the other was returned for a Bears touchdown. Chicago finished +2 in the turnover battle and nearly won because of it. Score this key for Chicago as well.
