1) Matt Barkley’s time to shine

For the two weeks, I have put the game on Jordan Howard. This week, it’s on Matt Barkley’s shoulders. The Packers were one of the few defenses to shut down Jordan Howard back in their week 7 matchup. The Chicago rookie was stifled for a mere 22 yards off of 7 carries. While the Bears can’t abandon the run, Green Bay will have the box stacked. They will dare Matt Barkley to beat them.

Barkley should have revenge on his mind going into Sunday’s game. After Brian Hoyer was hurt in Green Bay, Barkley came in for a relief appearance. It was a performance to forget for the USC product. The Packers battered Barkley en route to a two interception game. However, Barkley has become a much more formidable force since his Bears debut at Lambeau Field, and it must be on full display Sunday.

Working in Barkley’s favor is the return of Alshon Jeffrey. For the past few weeks, Barkley has watched a number of his pass be dropped by Chicago’s backup receivers. Now, he will have a true number one option to target and rely on. Barkley will need to be quick, accurate, and extremely safe with the ball. For the Bears to earn this key, Barkley will need to throw for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns.
