In week two, the Bears travel to Tampa to face the Buccaneers. You should not think that was an accident. The NFL looks at any way to add intrigue to their match-ups, even if they aren’t worthy of primetime games.

The league wants Mike Glennon to face his former team, but the league also knows the Chicago Bears will most likely be drafting a quarterback. If Glennon struggles, the Bears are going to throw their QB of the future out on the field and Glennon will head to the pine.

If the league waited until mid to late season to face Tampa, Glennon potentially sitting on the bench doesn’t add an element to this game. The league put this game early in the season in hopes that Glennon will be on the field and facing Jameis Winston and the Bucs.
