The Bears have a nice interior offensive line right now with Kyle Long, Cody Whitehair and Josh Sitton but the offensive tackles are average at best. Sharpe is a massive man with the ideal size to dominate defenders at the NFL level. Sharpe isn’t the most athletic guy in the world, which means if he proves he can’t handle the speed of the outside pass rush, he could move inside the guard, which would be ideal when Sitton leaves at the end of his contract.

As long as Sharpe engages the pass rusher, he almost always handles his man with ease, he only gets in trouble when he gets beat right at the snap of the ball. Sharpe was projected as a low second/early third round pick, but he would be sitting here in the fourth round and would be an absolute steal here.

The Bears had to use one of their fourth round picks on Eddie Jackson largely because they didn’t draft Jamal Adams, but this selection gives the Bears the help they need on the offensive line and arguably also has them take the best player available.
