Who will lead the Bears in jersey sales in 2017?
Alshon Jeffery led the team in 2016, so who will sell the most jerseys in 2017?
The NFL Players Association released their list of the top 50 jersey sales over the past year, from March 1, 2016 through February 28, 2017. Only one Bear finished in the top 50 in sales, and he finished at number 50. He also is not on the team anymore. That of course, would be Alshon Jeffery. So who will lead the team in jersey sales next year, and will anyone crack the top 50?
The first name that would come to mind would be Jordan Howard. Howard was a rookie sensation, averaging over 100 yards per game and 5.2 yards per carry as a rookie last season. He became an instant fan favorite, and is now a fantasy football commodity, increasing his name value and fan appreciation.
He is climbing fantasy boards, and with the Bears moving towards a run first offense, and having his fresh legs he is likely in for a huge 2017. He could become a fan favorite and a known elite skill player across the league by next season. That would certainly push his jersey sales in a similar way as it did to Jeffery.

Then, there is the obvious competition in Mitchell Trubisky. Trubisky will not play much next year, and will not have the same buzz surrounding him as Howard. However, Trubisky is now the future leader of the team and the player they bet their boat on. He will get some national credit in being the first quarterback taken, while Bears fans should be rushing to be the first to have his jersey.
Leonard Floyd with the potential of a strong year two could get some publicity. Kevin White could bounce back, and there is a small chance Jerrell Freeman can claim that top spot in leading the defense. However, the smart money is on Trubisky or Howard. In a close one, give me Howard due to the impact he should have on the field in 2017 that will boost his sales.
