Way-Too-Early Chicago Bears 53-Man Roster Prediction
Running Backs
1. Jordan Howard
2. Benny Cunningham
3. Tarik Cohen
4. Jeremy Langford
Notable Cut- Ka’Deem Carey
The top of this list is an easy one. Jordan Howard is the Bears’ workhorse and he will get the lion’s share of everything on offense. After Howard is a definite question mark. The Bears have five running backs on the roster and only four slots. The rookie Tarik Cohen is a sure bet to make the roster. After that, the final two slots will be between Benny Cunningham, Jeremy Langford, and Ka’Deem Carey.
Cunningham is the most reliable 3-down back after Howard, so I expect him to earn the RB2 duties while Cohen will be the change of pace home run threat in the backfield. The final running back slot will be between Carey and Langford. Carey may have an edge because of special teams’ abilities, but Langford has shown more ability on offense than Carey (and he’s a Pace guy over Carey who is from the previous regime).
Look for Langford to earn the final roster spot and have one final season to prove he’s capable of producing as an NFL running back. Carey will probably be picked up by another team in a sub-role on offense.
