Tight Ends, 3, Zach Miller, Adam Shaheen, Dion Sims
Shaheen was drafted this season and is a long-term pick rather than a short-term solution. He is a lock to make the team. Sims is in a similar boat. The team signed him this offseason and gave him enough guaranteed money that they will at least give him a full season, and most likely will give him two years.
What is interesting is that the most likely of the three to get cut is also the most likely to see the most snaps in 2017. Miller has dealt with a lot of injury issues. However, when he is healthy he can be a great receiving asset. He is only signed on for one more year, and with his age and injury concern, that is likely his last year. However, while Shaheen develops, it should be Miller leading the tight ends in targets. If Miller is to get hurt, or Shaheen progresses quick, look for Ben Braunacker, Daniel Brown and MyCole Pruitt to push for the third spot, while Miller is on the outside looking in.
