and Houston are easy additions, as the Bears will likely rotate four pass rushers, and they would be the other two. Houston could be competing for time with Sam Acho and Dan Skuta, but those two have chances to make the team as it is on special teams. In the case of Skuta, he has experience on the inside and outside, which should almost certainly clear him a spot.
Skuta’s experience and capability on the inside is what wins him a roster spot. Aside from Jones, the Bears would not have any true inside guys to back up the starting duo. However, Skuta can provide just as much on special teams as Jonathan Anderson and John Timu, and has more defensive snaps in his career than the two combined. When Trevathan comes back it may end up being Skuta or Acho with their job on the line, but in the meantime, the Bears will just be thinner in the middle.
