3. Zach Miller

Speaking of injury questions, nobody truly knows the status of Zach Miller. This is a player who has essentially needed season-ending surgery in every season of his career. He ended last year with a foot injury and while he claims to be close to 100-percent, there is no telling exactly where he stands.

Then there is the factor of his age and contract. Miller is a free agent next year and is going to be 32 to start this season. His dead cap hit is only $500k and would save the Bears roughly $1.8 million to let go of him. While they do not the money, a team with injury issues cannot hate the financial flexibility.

When looking at the depth chart, the Bears signed Dion Sims to be their inline blocking tight end. They drafted their Miller replacement in the second round with Adam Shaheen, so the thought of re-signing the 33-year old next season seems unlikely. On top that, Daniel Brown is a player of a similar skill set, and replaced Miller last season after he was injured. Brown had 16 receptions last seasons, and if he rocked out training camp while Miller looked over the hill, he can easily hold the place down until Shaheen can step into a big role. There is no guarantee at all that even a healthy Miller makes the roster.
