Who are the Bears most valuable players in the 2017 season?
We rank the Bears in order of their value. Age, contract and how important their 2017 progression is to the team is what is used to rank the players.
15. Willie Young
Young is one of the rare cases of the Bears front office making a good decision in recent years. Young has only missed two games in the past three seasons, and his three years run with the Bears has been the best of his career.
Over that three year run Young has 23.5 sacks. What makes Young an even more valuable player is that his run stuffing game is even more productive than what he has done to the quarterback. Young is the rare consistently productive piece of the defense.
However, he is 31 years old now, going into his age 32 season. He is best on a snap count and being used when he is needed the most in a rotational role. Also, if the Bears were to have it there way Pernell McPhee and Leonard Floyd would be the two leading pass rushers. Pass rush is important, but as the third most valuable pass rusher on the team, it is tough to argue the Bears placing more value in Young than others.
