11. Mike Glennon
Glennon does not have long term value to the team in himself. However, what he does in the 2017 season could give the Bears some potential assets in a recoup from what they lost in their trade up for Mitchell Trubisky.
The Bears are not committed to Glennon in the long term. If he succeeds this season his contract situation becomes cheap, valuable and moveable. The Bears could find themselves seeing a haul if Glennon can perform in his one season. It could even be smoke and mirrors, but in the quarterback starved league, he can find assets. This is the value in signing Glennon and drafting Trubisky.
The Bears are going to need Glennon to make an impact on the field in 2017. If he does not work out it is probably going to cost the Bears, and hinder their ability to build around Mitchell Trubisky. It would set the team and their expectations back. The Bears are relying on Mike Glennon and he is one of the 11 most valuable players on the team this year.
