When Ryan Pace spent his 2017 draft class on a bunch of “projects,” analysts were not very kind to his work. After applauding what he did in 2016, it was quite the opposite in 2017.

It’s a little hash to judge a draft choice a day after the draft, but at the same time, it’s also unfair to applaud a draft class after just a few days of practice, but make no mistake about it, there are multiple rookies impressing in training camp and the name at the top of the list may be Tarik Cohen.

Cohen has been electric in camp and has shown off his impressive elusiveness and incredible speed and quickness. Coming from a small school, Cohen looked like he could be a project who wouldn’t make much of an impact as a rookie, but if early practice is any indication, Cohen has a chance to make an impact in year one.

Cohen has been impressive. He already clearly looks like the man that will share the workload with Jordan Howard. If this continues, you will see the Bears look to get Cohen 5 to 10 touches a game and see what he can do with the football. When the rookies take the field for the Bears’ first preseason game, most eyes will be on Mitch Trubisky, but Bears fans should watch Cohen and see what he can do. He could become an absolute steal for Ryan Pace in round 4.
