Eddie Jackson

There will be a cycle of safeties in this game, and the pairings and the number of snaps given to each player will be a must watch in its own right. However, to narrow it down to one, the rookie Eddie Jackson is the most interesting to watch for. The fourth round rookie from Alabama may wind up a starter by the end of the season. His path to that spot starts on Thursday. Jackson has been the talk of camp. He has received starter snaps next to Quintin Demps and has been the second biggest playmaker behind Demps.

The Bears have a lot of options at safety. However, Demps likely will not need to see much time. The Bears could play him a series with Adrian Amos, a series with Jackson. Jackson will likely also get time next to Amos. These will be the chances for Jackson to prove that he belongs. He can prove that these are his peers and not his idols. How many snaps he plays and who he plays them with will be important to watch in every preseason game.
