Five Bears players to watch in Preseason Week Two
Ka’Deem Carey
Carey was one of the standouts of the game. He left with an injury but hardly missed any practice time afterward. Carey rushed four times for 31 yards but may have shined even brighter on special teams. He showed up as a blocker, and a gunner chasing down punts and kicks.
Carey is at the point where he needs to prove his worth on the roster in any way possible. He is fighting for his roster life and is on the tough side of a numbers game. However, with Jeremy Langford out, he outperformed Benny Cunningham and looked to be ahead of Cunningham on the pecking order.
Langford should be back for week two. Jordan Howard is unlikely to play much if at all, but Tarik Cohen will be due snaps as well, given that he is a rookie the team invested in. How the Bears split snaps and roles for these four backs will be a must watch. How special teams snaps distribute between Langford and Carey will be equally, if not more important.
