We enlisted the help of The Pewter Plank, our Tampa Bay Buccaneers sister site, to help us preview the Bears vs Bucs Week 2 game.

It’s Bears vs Bucs in Week 2, or is it Week 1? It depends on who you ask. The Chicago Bears find themselves in a familiar place, 0-1 after the first week of the season. You have to go all the way back to 2013 to find a Bears win in the season opener.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on the other hand, find themselves in a strange place. They had an impromptu Week 1 bye in the wake of Hurricane Irma, so they’re chomping at the bit to get rolling for sixteen straight games with no mid-season bye.

A lot of fans got a glimpse behind the scenes as the Bucs were featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks. They are considered a playoff contender and there are a lot of high hopes in south Florida pinned on the Bucs.

For the Bears, they’re hoping to take that next step. They stood toe to toe with the defending NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons in Week 1, but failed to punch in the decisive score with four chances from the 5-yard line. There are no moral victories, so they’re still in search of their first W of the season.

To help us get primed for the Bears vs Bucs Week 2 tilt, we enlisted the help of James Yarcho from The Pewter Plank to give us a peak behind enemy lines.
