Chicago Bears under dogs once again in Week Two
By Julian Green
Over the course of the season I will be bringing you the betting line for each Bears game, while also making a prediction on whether or not they will cover the spread. In this week 2 match up, the Bears take on the Buccaneers.
The Line: Buccaneers are favored by 7
Over/Under: 43.5 Total Points

on the road against the Buccaneers (0-0), who had their game cancelled last week due to the incoming hurricane. Tampa Bay is looking for third year QB Jameis Winston to take the next step towards becoming elite after they spent the off-season surrounding him with more talent. So why is the spread -7?
The reason Tampa is favored is due to a number of factors. Tampa Bay is at home, giving them the advantage there. They did not play last week, which could make them a bit rusty, but also means they are the healthier team.
Chicago be trying to find creative ways to generate offense after losing Kevin White to an already thin skill position group. The Bears defense along with possible rust from Tampa are the main reasons this spread does not favor the home team a little more.
Spread Prediction:
While I think the Bears will hang tough again, ultimately I think Tampa Bay will get the win. That said, if I were to bet, I would say the Bears will cover the 7 point spread. The Bucs will not be as smooth on offense as they will be four weeks from now which will really help the Bears cover. This score also means I think that both teams total points will go over the 43.5 mark, with 46 total. I look forward to this old school NFC Central match up. The Bears defense going against one of the top young QB’s in the game will be fun.
