Daniel Brown

Daniel Brown came to the Bears last year and helped stabilize the tight end position a little. He was much more valuable than his stats would indicate as a few of his 16 receptions would come at critical moments for the Bears. Brown is “sneaky” talented and can help the team as a receiver.

Having previously been with the Baltimore Ravens, where he played in eight games with one start, Brown was still raw when he came to Chicago. He remains raw but he is learning, growing and should be able to contribute more as the season goes on.

If anything, his contribution on special teams is beneficial.

And if the injuries continue to pile up, Brown maybe seeing additional action soon.

Chicago may insert Brown into the lineup more or split him out in the slot should they suffer additional injuries at the wide receiver position. We certainly hope that doesn’t happen but if it does, while he may not possess wide receiver speed, he does have good hands and can run decent routes.

We may soon see if the Bears will need his help more often this season.
