Chicago Bears Look To Upset Packers as Underdogs
By Julian Green
Over the course of the season I will be bringing you the betting line for each Chicago Bears game. I while also making a prediction on whether or not they will cover the spread. In this week 4 match up, the Chicago Bears take on the Packers.
The Line: Packers are favored -7
Over/Under: 45.5 total points
After covering the spread last week with a win vs. Pittsburgh, the Bears (1-2) will look to continue the momentum Thursday night at rival Green Bay. The Packers (2-1) are coming off an OT comeback win against the terrible Bengals.
The spread favors the Packers for a few reasons, starting with the fact that Aaron Rodgers absolutely owns the Bears. Since he took over for Brett Favre

in 2008, Rodgers is 14-4 against the Chicago. While Green Bay might be ailing from a health standpoint, they seem to be good for 28 no matter who trots out there.
The home field advantage gives Green Bay 3 points off top. The Bears are going on the road this week and the last time they we’re away, it did not go as planned. I think this spread would actually favor Green Bay even more if they were more impressive last week and the Bears were not as good.
It helps Chicago that the Packers offensive line is not playing well right now and the Bears front 7 is the strength of the team. This will also be a good test for the Bears’ secondary. On offense, establishing a rhythm for the run game that hopefully leads into the pass game will be imperative. I would also like to see Dowell Loggins reach into his bag of tricks to maybe get some cheap points on a trick play.
My Prediction:
I would bet on the Packers to cover the spread this week. Even though it was a small sample size, the Bears were really bad on the road a few weeks ago. Also it would be stupid to not consider Aaron Rodgers’ confidence against the Bears. He flat out knows how to beat this team and it usually isn’t pretty. I would also bet the under on the total points because the Bears can’t pass and the Packers o-line will hold them back a bit. Bear down.
