Super Bowl Shuffle-Pro Football Hall of Fame by the Author

While there have been some great players who have played for the Chicago Bears, there have been others who were “interesting” and “colorful.” Let’s just say their actions and their personality were contagious. These players represent some of the most entertaining aspects of the Bears over the last few years.

Here are a few of the most memorable Chicago Bears’ personalities.

Mike Ditka-Who can forget “The Coach” or “Iron Mike”? This Chicago Bears Hall of Famer had a great career as a player and as a coach in Chicago. He helped coach the Bears to a Super Bowl victory (although some say it was Buddy Ryan who got them there). The fans loved him, and they still love him. He will be forever remembered for chomping his cigar and some famous quips and quotes.

For some, he is their favorite Bear of all and the Bears’ most polarizing figure ever. William “The Refrigerator” Perry-Who could ever forget one of the most famous personalities the Bears have ever had. He was a controversial figure from the get go but became a sensation during the Bears’ Super Bowl season. Perry was a big as a refrigerator but if you watch any of his tape from back then, he could make plays. Perry was very quick for his size.

Steve McMichael-This guy had no filter and was one of the most memorable Chicago Bears from their Super Bowl-winning era. Mongo, as he was commonly known as, was as vocal off the field as he was on the field and was one of the fiercest defenders the Bears have had. His post-football exploits are the stuff of legends as he became a professional wrestler after retirement.

Jim McMahon-No discussion about famous Bears’ personalities would be complete without talking about quarterback Jim McMahon. There is so much to say about McMahon that it can’t be discussed here but he was easily the most memorable quarterback in Bears history. Whether it was the Rozelle headbands or mooning a helicopter during Super Bowl week, McMahon was one of the most polarizing figures in Chicago Bears history.
