This week, the Chicago Bears will have the attention of the entire country when they face their NFC North division rival Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football. For the third consecutive year, the Bears have started their season with a 1-3 record, and are once again trying to find a way to climb out of the cellar. A win against the Vikings (2-2) will greatly help Chicago’s chances for relevancy in the division.

The Bears will be entering this contest with some new faces in important places. Some of these changes are due to a growing list of injuries, while other changes are being made because of lack of production at vital positions. In addition to these variations, a lot of focus will be put on Chicago’s running game. As of now, the running back duo of Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen are still considered the bread-and-butter of the Bears’ offense. Their ground attack is ranked 12th in the NFL (117.5 yards per game), and Howard and Cohen will have a tough task ahead of them when trying to run between the teeth of Minnesota’s run defense that is surrendering an average of 71.2 yards per game (third-best in the league), and has allowed only one rushing touchdown in 2017.

Besides the running game, there are some other factors that are even more important for the Bears that will dictate the outcome of this game. Let’s take a deeper look into the top five things that fans should keep an eye on this Monday night.
