Bears’ Pass Rush

Through the first four games of the season, the Bears’ defense has recorded nine sacks. They have been getting some pressure on opposing quarterbacks, but will find it a bit more difficult to do so this week. Outside linebacker Willie Young practiced with the team on Thursday, but was held out on Friday and Saturday, and has now been placed on injured reserve with a triceps injury. Young, who is tied for the team lead with two sacks, is probably the Bears’ most consistent pass rusher. His absence must be filled by Pernell McPhee and Leonard Floyd. Along with the defensive line, McPhee and Floyd must find a way to penetrate a Vikings offensive front that has allowed only five sacks this season.
