Chicago Bears: 5 Things to Watch for in Week 5
How Will O-Line Contain Everson Griffen?
According to www.nflpenalties.com, the Bears’ offensive line have been flagged for nine holding penalties this season (tied for second-most in the NFL). In order to keep from putting the offense in deeper holes, they must cut that dramatically. They definitely will have to do so when trying to keep Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen at bay. With five sacks on the year, Griffen is the fourth-leading sacker in the NFL. The primary responsibility in stopping Griffen will go to left tackle Charles Leno Jr. As a whole, Chicago’s offensive front has surrendered eight sacks and 25 quarterback hits this season. In order to make this game as easy as possible for their new man under center, the O-line will have to be a wall against Griffen and the rest of Minnesota’s front four.
