Tanner Gentry’s Return

For the second time this season, undrafted rookie wide receiver Tanner Gentry will be suiting up for the Bears. Earlier this week, Chicago released Deonte Thompson, and once again promoted Gentry to the 53-man roster. The Wyoming product will be hoping to help fill a void left by fellow receiver Markus Wheaton, who is ruled out this Sunday with a groin injury. In Gentry’s first regular-season appearance, he had only two catches for 27 yards. Of course, former starting quarterback Mike Glennon barely pushed the ball downfield. Maybe Trubisky will be more willing to look Gentry’s way. The two rookies seemed to have some chemistry in the preseason. Let’s hope that those good vibes will help keep Gentry on the 53-man roster for more than a week this time.
