Pernell McPhee’s Play Against Former Team

This past Tuesday, the Bears placed outside linebacker Willie Young on injured reserve with an injured triceps he sustained in Week 4. Young did not play against the Vikings in Week 5, and as a result, Pernell McPhee saw an increase in defensive reps. McPhee will definitely see that same increase this week, and it will be against his former team. This seems to be the healthiest we’ve seen the seven-year veteran since coming to the Windy City.

Earlier this week, McPhee mentioned that he’s still a bit upset with how things ended for him in Baltimore. The Ravens opted not to offer McPhee a contract once he became a free agent in 2015. Maybe the chip on his shoulder will help him play the way that Chicago has been waiting for him to play since becoming a Bear.
