Will Bears’ Offense Lean Heavily on Running Game Again?

In Chicago’s two wins this season, the offense relied on their running game. Last week, Chicago called 50 run plays and only 21 pass plays. It appears that the Bears’ coaching staff is spoon feeding the playbook to Trubisky, and going with what they know best. But against the Panthers’ stout run defense, will head coach John Fox and offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains be tempted to squeeze the air out of the ball once again with Howard and Cohen?
Hearing the news of Panthers All-Pro linebacker Luke Kuechly being listed as out with a concussion may help Chicago’s decision in whether or not they want to run more than pass. Kuechly is Carolina’s leading tackler, and that’s a hole that the Bears could easily exploit.
