Finally, there are two more players that have an outside shot at making the Pro Bowl this season. They have shown flashes of Pro Bowl-caliber ability and now, just need to be consistent. They are safeties Adrian Amos and Eddie Jackson.

Amos has been quiet, so to speak, having not terribly well or poorly enough to get noticed. He has been consistent. Just recently, Amos has been able to start then break out showing us what he is made of.

He did lose his starting job to Quintin Demps to begin the year after starting the previous two seasons. That showed the Bears he still had some work to do. But, thanks to an injury to Demps, Amos got back to be the starter and has played very well.

In fact, if Amos can remain consistent, the Bears may not want to bring Demps back.

You cannot forget what safety Eddie Jackson has brought to the Bears. His stellar outing against the Carolina Panthers should be an indication of what we can expect. With some additional experience and time in the defense, he will get even better.

It’s not out of the question to think that he might be able to make the Pro Bowl this season. At the least, he should be able to make it onto an all-Rookie team. Perhaps he could even contend for the Defensive Rookie of the Year honor. That’s if he plays well consistently.
